MOSCOW, Mar 25 (PRIME) -- Russia will restart air travel with Germany, Venezuela, Syria, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Sri Lanka on April 1, the government’s response center for the prevention of the spread of coronavirus said in a statement on Thursday following a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova.
“After the discussion, a decision was made and coordinated with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin taking into account the epidemiologic situation in some countries so that scheduled international air cooperation is restarted on a mutual basis with Venezuela, Syria, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Sri Lanka from April 1, 2021,” the statement read.
The Russian and German governments also coordinated a relaunch of scheduled flights between Frankfurt and Moscow, Frankfurt and St. Petersburg, and Berlin and Moscow.
The center also approved an increase of scheduled flights between the country and Cuba, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates from April 1.
In addition to that, the government also allowed airports of 13 Russian cities to restart flights to foreign cities on April 1. The list includes Barnaul, Belgorod, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kaluga, Krasnodar, Lipetsk, Nalchik, Orenburg, Saratov, Sochi, Tyumen, and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
